What’s Your Goal?
Everyone celebrates when the ball hits the back of the net. But beyond football, fame, money and entertainment, there is a far greater question: what is the real goal of your life?
Every few years, the world gathers around one game. Stadiums fill. Streets become colourful. Families and friends crowd around screens. People cheer, cry, celebrate and argue over one thing: the goal.
But when the final whistle blows, the banners come down, the shirts go back in the wardrobe, and life returns to normal. The excitement fades. The question remains.
If football has a goal, should life not have one too?
This is the powerful idea behind the “What’s Your Goal?” da‘wah theme: using the language of football to invite people to reflect on their purpose, their Creator, and their final destination.
A Question Bigger Than Football
In football, a player does not run without direction. A team does not train without purpose. A manager does not send players onto the pitch without a plan. Everything is built around a goal.
Yet many people live their entire lives without asking the most important questions:
Why am I here?
Is life just work, bills, pleasure and death?
Who created me?
Did this universe come from nothing, or is there a Creator?
What happens after death?
Is death the end, or is it the beginning of accountability?
Islam gives a clear and beautiful answer: we were created by Allah, the One true God, to know Him, worship Him, live according to His guidance, and return to Him.
“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”
Qur’an 51:56
The World Cup Moment
The 2026 World Cup will bring millions of people together across the USA, Canada and Mexico, with billions watching around the world. For many, it will be a month of excitement, emotion and unforgettable memories.
But moments like this also open doors. When people are already thinking about goals, success, nations, unity, victory and defeat, it becomes a perfect opportunity to ask a deeper question:
What’s your real goal?
Not your team’s goal. Not your career goal. Not your financial goal. Your ultimate goal.
The Simple Message of Islam
At JustMuslim, our message is simple, sincere and direct. Islam calls people back to the worship of the One who created them. This can be explained through five clear points:
- God: The universe, life, order and consciousness point to a Creator.
- Oneness: The Creator is One, unique, perfect and unlike His creation.
- Revelation: Allah did not leave humanity confused; He sent guidance.
- Afterlife: Life is a test, and every soul will return to Allah.
- Prophethood: Muhammad ﷺ is the final Messenger, sent as mercy and guidance for mankind.
Islam is not blind faith. It invites people to think, question, reflect and examine the signs around them and within themselves.
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for people of understanding.”
Qur’an 3:190
The Greatest Goal: To Know and Worship Allah
People chase many goals: a better job, a bigger house, a perfect body, a dream car, a happy family, popularity, security and success. These things may have a place in life, but none of them can be the final purpose of life.
Why? Because every worldly goal eventually ends. Wealth is left behind. Beauty fades. Strength weakens. Fame is forgotten. Even the loudest stadium becomes silent.
The only goal that remains is the one connected to Allah and the Hereafter.
“Every soul will taste death. And you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection.”
Qur’an 3:185
A Conversation Starter for Everyone
The beauty of “What’s Your Goal?” is that it is simple. Anyone can understand it. A Muslim does not need to begin with complicated terminology. A friendly question can open a sincere conversation.
You could ask:
“Everyone is excited about football goals, but can I ask you something deeper — what do you think is the real goal of life?”
From there, the conversation can naturally move toward the Creator, the purpose of life, the Qur’an, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the reality of the Hereafter.
Read the Qur’an for Yourself
The Qur’an is not just a book for Muslims. It is a message to humanity — calling every person to reflect, repent, worship the One true God, and prepare for the Day we all return to Him.
A Message to Muslims
This is also a reminder for Muslims. Dawah is not only for scholars, speakers or organisations. Every Muslim can be a means of guidance for someone else — with good manners, sincerity, patience and wisdom.
You do not need to know everything to invite someone to Allah. You need sincerity, basic understanding, humility, and the courage to begin.
“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction…”
Qur’an 16:125
A smile, a leaflet, a Qur’an, a short conversation, a kind answer, or a simple question may be the seed Allah uses to guide a person.
So, What’s Your Goal?
The World Cup will end. The trophy will be lifted. The headlines will move on. But your life is still moving toward a final meeting with your Creator.
So ask yourself sincerely:
- Am I living only for this world?
- Do I know the One who created me?
- Have I read His final revelation?
- Am I prepared to meet Allah?
Your greatest goal is not just to succeed in life.
Your greatest goal is to know Allah, worship Him alone, and enter Paradise by His mercy.
