Dawah Tour: Liverpool City, May 2024

In May 2024, our Dawah team visited Liverpool City with the mission to raise awareness about Islam and promote community cohesion. The event was a resounding success, with 23 individuals embracing Islam. The team distributed 500 hundred of Qurans and literature, engaging with the local community to dispel misconceptions about Islam.

Promoting Peace and Understanding

The Dawah tour aims to break down barriers of ignorance and bring humanity closer together. By providing accurate information and fostering direct communication, we hope to promote a better understanding of Islam and its teachings. As stated in the Qur’an:

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” (Qur’an 49:13)

This verse emphasizes the importance of knowing and understanding one another, which is the core objective of our Dawah efforts.

The Importance of Community in Islam

Islam emphasizes the importance of community and caring for one’s neighbors. A Hadith highlights this beautifully:

“He is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbor goes hungry.” (Sahih Bukhari)

This teaching underscores the importance of compassion and social responsibility in Islam.

Understanding Islam and Its Teachings

Islam is a faith centered around submission and surrender to the will of Allah, carried out with sincerity. The Arabic root of the word Islam, “SA LA MA,” means Submission, Surrender, Sincerity, and Peace. When one submits and surrenders to Allah with sincerity, they achieve inner peace. The term Muslim is derived from “Mu-Islam,” signifying anyone who practices Islam.

Prophets in Islam

In Islam, every prophet, from Adam to Muhammad (peace be upon them all), is considered a Muslim. This highlights that Islam and Muslims are synonymous, unified under the same fundamental belief in submission to Allah. As the Qur’an states:

“Say (O Muslims), ‘We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.’” (Qur’an 2:136)
